Seamless install of AIR application from web page?

Adobe has instructions (ancient, relatively) on installing and running AIR applications from a web page (https://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f-1c6efe05128cca667e7-8000.html). This requires Flash Player to run, which isn't viable moving forward...

I found another question (https://community.adobe.com/t5/air/air-custom-install-badge-support/m-p/10402577?page=1#M54628) from a year ago asking a similar quetion.

Is there a way to do the badge seamless install/run that doesn't use Flash Player behind it?
