Question

"Search this Forum" broken?

Anything I type into the "SEARCH THIS FORUM" field returns zero results.

It's been like that since I started using this forum last month.

Chrome, Firefox, and IE.

How come?

Dont forget about the weird bug when you are on a page other than page 1 and you view a post and then hit back you are reset back to page one even though you might have been on page 5 so you have to dig around again.

Hi,

I could only confirm your observation.

Now here is solution I'm using from time to time:

#1

to find anything relevant:

[searchTerm[...[...]]] site:forums.adobe.com

on google search

#2 now real life example:

- to find your specific post here, one could write search phrase:

"search this forum broken?" site:forums.adobe.com/community/air

which return your truly post on 1st position (highest rank):

http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=%22search+this+forum+broken%3F%22+site:forums.adobe.com/community/air&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8(Safari 5.1.*/OS X)

I believe it work way better then Adobe own search/keywording on adobe.com search - which sometimes returns unrelevant search results (this is my own opinion, your could be different).

hth,

kind regards,

Peter

Yeah, I've been using Google with site:forums.adobe.com too. Still...

And the forum's not too desktop friendly either. Sometimes, on Firefox the "Last Post" column is truncated so each item looks something like

I think I know what happened. When Adobe bought Macromedia, they thought, "Oh, we're getting all these guys who know about web development. Our site will be awesome." But then Macromedia said, "It's your site, you should program it."

Long story short: Adobe's entire site is still being outsourced to one guy in Sri Lanka who's using a cracked copy of FrontPage and testing with Netscape Navigator 3.02.

While someone is answering your question i would like to point out the irony that this mobile development forum is not mobile friendly on my android device.
