Setting up an email alert in a Flash Document exported as an app thru AIR

I have a flash document that will become an app. I need to know if I can add an email field where the user would submit their email address to be alerted for the next newest app. One thing dinging it in AS3 but need to make sure this will translate properly when the app is deployed for both IOS and Android.
