slow runtime loading

Hi.

I'm using air 2.6 sdk

I'm making a game and I have a png atlas for each lvl that is around 2.5 Mb each.

Every time i have lo load one, it takes around 8 seconds to load on my Samsung Galaxy Tab

On the desktop it just takes .200 s.

Is this difference normal? Is there a way to improve the loading time?

Although the files may be local, consider the difference between the processing power of your desktop computer and the Galaxy Tab.

The difference is normal.

Optimise the png's as much as possible and provide visual feedback of the loading time.
