StageText auto-correct not working on Android

Has anyone been able to toggle this setting effectively? On iOS it works fine, but for some reason, the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy S3 I'm testing on (release build .apk's) won't recognize the "false" modes of auto-correct and auto-capitalize.

I'm using the Feathers TextInput, which is the Starling wrapper for StageText.
