Question

The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged.

Hi,

I have been searching high and low for an answer but I cannot find one. I was on the phone to the tech support guy who's application it is and he is very confused too. I hope you can help me understand why this application "Comm100" wont install for me and it seems like I am the only one with the problem. This machine is a newly built and fresh install. I have tried every way in installing, re-installing, even changing the time. I can think off and I can install other air products off the market but just not this file.

Below is my log file from a fresh air install.

For the next person that finds this thread, I encountered this error when trying to install an AIR file from an external / network drive. Copied the file locally, and installation proceeded normally.

I know this thread is old. but I also had the same problem and could not find the answer via google, but I did manage to resolve the problem...

my problem was geting the same error is the OP but for Pandora One Desktop App.

The problem was the file location of the program installer. I had it on a NAS that, once I copied the file to my local machine the problem went away and it installed with no error. I don't see any permission errors that could be causing the problem with installing from a network mapped drive. but again, copying it local did the trick.

Update.

I have searched google with nothing to report, some searches even lead back here.

I have tried

uninstalling and reinstalling

Installing later/ealier versions

Insalling BETA 3.2 versions

Installing random air package (works)

Using the zapper tool

Using the cleanup tool

Disabling Avast antivirus.

Banging my head on the keyboard.

The thing is, comm100 support has got no idea what is causing the problem, they even took control of my PC to see if they could find anything conflicting. What has gotten me really stumped is that its a new built machine with a fresh install. Comm100 is used by 100's if not 1000's of people and I am the only person having this error with this program and it looks like an unuiqe error as google comes up with nothing.

Hope Adobe staff reads this soon as I am going crazy (I know chris is away atm)

For what its worth, some of our users got this message also when installing a RoboHelp AIR update. It was remedied by reinstalling the Adobe AIR application itself first, then reinstalling your application.

Hi,

I have uninstalled adobe air a few times now and tried to install the application again with no luck.

I have also tried opening the package in winRAR and found that the error below.

Is a folder/file within the package, I cannot extract or open the file in the air insall package.

But many people have installed this package without errors from the same source I downloaded mine from.

Oh and forgot to add, There is only one account on the PC and I am the main Administrator.
