Time to re-introduce Linux support? SteamOS

Steam has already put linux on the map for gamers, now they are improving some of the features ( graphics / audio / input latency ), which will get rolled back into non-SteamOS distros

Just out of interest, why ( if it was working ) was Linux support dropped?

I also would LOVE (truly uppercase) to see AIR running again on Linux, but I believe the audience for it was really too small (less than 1% of AIR downloads if my memory is ok). I belive that if Linux (and SteamOS) prove to be a good distribution way Adobe will take a look on it again ;-)

I was just thinking about that. Man I'd love for AIR to make a comeback to Linux just because of that. Although I know people would be wary of it.

My guess is that it was probably dropped because it was just not worth the hassle (harder to test against every distro, drivers, etc along with a much smaller audience).

I've never had the need to use or target Linux, but would love to see it supported again.

Aside from the minority audience, I guess there was some problem with ANE support, as the same version that supported them was the version were Linux was dropped.
