Video from camera in app?

I'm being asked to make an app where the live video feed form the camera is displayed in the app with some overlay elements.  When the user presses a button the frame from the video is captured and can be saved to the roll(or sent to instagram, which is another issue i'm trying to figure out).  Is this possible withough and ane?  With an ane?  Not in Air at all?

Thanks.

The showing the video with overlays, taking the picture, and saving it to the camera roll is all possible with normal Flash features. I don’t know of an Instagram ANE, but the GoViral ANE will let you share to email, Twitter, and Facebook. You can even use it in a way that would let iOS users do a print, and if Apple were to add Instagram support it would work for that too.

Note that you would be using the normal Flash Camera class, you wouldn’t be using the device’s camera app, because that wouldn't allow you to do the overlays you want to do.

Is it possible to record a video from the camera class?

You can't record video by default way without ANE's.
