What is the Lowest Android Version Required?

Hello,

I am new to mobile dev, but an experienced Flex developer. Forgive me for my noob ignorance.

In my research, I keep seeing conflicting information. Will AIR for Android apps built in FB run on Android 2.1, or is 2.2 the lowest accepted version? And will the APK automatically install AIR if it is not on the device?

2.2 is the minimum, and the apk doesn't install AIR if it's not there, but the user automatically given the download link for AIR from the marketplace.
