Question

What versions of iOS are able to install and run AIR files?

I have an iPhone (version 6.0.1) but when I go to the AIR download page, it says:

We're Sorry

Adobe AIR is not supported by your device. This content can be viewed on a desktop computer or on mobile devices that support Adobe AIR.

Same question with installing iOS apps created in Flash. I have yet to be able to do so and am not sure if the problem is my device, the certificate or the provisioning profile.

Here's a very nice tutorial that goes through pretty much all the basics from start to finish about developing for iOS on Window. Few things are different if you develop on OSX, but the rest should be the same. Although the video is more than two years old, I just slightly watched it and the contents seem valid even today. Good luck with it

You don't need to install AIR on iOS.

You need to install AIR application on your device. Could you please mention the error which you get while installing the applications?

Also how are you installing the application?

It seems I can't import it into the iTunes Library or drag and drop it onto the device. Attempting to download it from a web address displays the following:

Download Failed

Safari cannnot download this file.

Which is why I assumed I needed to install AIR first.

I also have an older iPad (5.1.1) and when I attempt to install it (while using iTunes) I got the following:

NameOfFile.air was not copied to the iPad because it cannot be played on this iPad.

In this case I assumed it was due to outdated software.

You can't run AIR for Desktop files on mobile. You can only install IPA onto iOS, or APK onto Android.
