Why can I install an air ios app to my ipad but get 'Could not copy validate signature' for my iphone?

I have re-created the certificates and provisioning profiles etc with both devices registered... but still my app will not sync. It is an iphone app and it works on the ipad! but when i try to put it on my iphone it will not sign. Which part of the many many many certificates and profiles do I need to change to make it sign?

The whole process from apple doesnt seem that user friendly to me....
