Windows 7 Adobe Air install problem

… worked perfectly for me. It basically wipes the system of all traces of the old Adobe Air. In my case that's all that was needed … nothing to do with Services or anything else I read before coming on this solution. I've been a huge Microsoft critic in the past, but I have to admit this isn't the first time one of their "Fix it" tools managed to clear up a long-standing annoyance.

What I did is download both items linked in this message, ran the first one ( the Microsoft tool … be sure to point to Adobe Air specifically when it shows you a list of programs and asks if you see the name of the troublesome program ), then, after it completes and asks if the issue was fixed or not, I just left that window open and ran the Adobe Air installer ( second link ) which installed without issue finally ( and fast ), before going back to the first window to indicate :  Yes!

Hi Chris got the problem fixed, I've manually deleted all Adobe AIR records from registry and found out that I have a inactive desktop shortcut to my app deleted that also and it helped.

got another info as I can tell there is no problem updating or 'fresh' install of the app on another pc so the problem occurs only on my PC.

Hi again I've deleted the 'itodo' folder from program files where the app normally installs and still the app shows the same error

Hi Chris I came across and error trying to update my Air app called desktop thunder(from 1.2.5 to 1.3), it sad that the installation file is corrupted, so I uninstantiated the 1.2.5, and tried to install 1.3(not update the previous version) , still no luck there so I tried to return to my previous version of the app (with was working fine) and again it tells me that the installation  file is corrupted. However I can install a test app in AIR that I've created and it runes fine, can't say that about my app, cant install any of the my previous versions.

Tried to un-install AIR and re-install it, but the problem still occurs. Attaching my log file from AIR and desktop thunder install.

I am too having problems with Adobe Air. I have bought Language software that works with Adobe Air but after several days trying to get it working I am having no luck.

The answer from 'five kids' may have worked for him, it doesn't work for me.

I have deleated every reference to Air on my computer and still I am told, when I try to instal Air, there is an error and that I should consult the Administrator - which is me.

Anybody got an idea, please.

To all:

I too had a problem installing Air on Windows 7 64-bit.  Had tried many different suggestions with no luck till I can across this thread.  I used the msicuu.exe mentioned above to remove AdobeAIR that way (I am also leary of all the "cleaners" you can find out there).  I then was able to install AdobeAir and it immediately updated itself.  I am now running 2.7 with no problems.

My problem is similar, but instead of getting something about contact administrator the adobe AIR won't download at all. I did however find a way to by pass that and get in on my computer using a 3rd party download. The issue though is that although I have it on my computer it does not work properly and I am unable to run a couple of key programs on my computer. I try to install Pandora One desktop application, but adobe doesn't allow it and I get a message that says, "Adobe AIR Application Installer has stopped working" It also contains problem details:
