127.0.0.1 ---> test from other local network devices

Hello!

I've noticed Animate generate a local web service for test canvas proposes letting us access trow default local IP 127.0.0.1  and in my case port: 1521

Example: http://127.0.0.1:1521/estovaquedarhorrendo.html?73044831

To avoid upload to test on my phone or other local devices I've tried to change the local IP address to my computer's local network IP, but none of my devices can reach it.

Anyone have a clue or have tried it and get it to work?

Any help, clue, or even a joke would be appreciated!

Thanks!

When testing from Animate, Animate creates a local host which you refer to IP 127.0.0.1 .

The only ways to test outside of Aminate created local host when testing from Animate is to like kglad said upload the files to an hosting service.

Also I found this tutorial on how to access a localHost from your Iphone which might be usefull.

I explored the localhost situation since files do not work if for example you just open the html file directly from a file explorer. I created a localhost and it worked but my company decided to us Microsoft Azure for our testers.

    I hope this helps.

this is a solution only for Mac OS
I open a web service using Python http server using Terminal on Mac OS

    - Open Terminal ( Applications/Utilities/Terminal )
    - On the Terminal Window go to your project (or desired root folder) using something like; "cd /users/myUserName/Proyects/web/" then press Intro to get Terminal into that folder

    - Run Python server using: "python3 -m http.server 9001"

then you can access on your local network to your computer IP (look up the ip using Preferences / Network) it should be something like 192.168.1.77 now you will be able to enter your root directory from any device connected to your local wifi network using: http://192.168.1.77:9001

It works for me and makes me happy 🙂

Any questions, feel free to ask!

if you're testing on anything other than the computer with animate running, just upload the published files to a file server and test those uploaded files.
