A Weird Brush Tool Error

I had this weird brush tool bug where if I try to make a shape inside a Graphic symbol, it instead fills up the space in it and remove the line. I made a circle, triangle, square and a scribble to show an example. It just like fills in when I make a shape. But if I make a line it disappeared. Somehow the Brush tool works perfectly fine outside the symbols. Please help me
