Recently I have found a few old animation files of when I used the trial version of Adobe Animate before I started to use Macromedia Flash Professional 8. I was wondering if there is a way to open Adobe Animate files to be able to be opened in Macromedia because currently if I try to open any files, it will come up with the error message: Unexpected file format. Would it be possible to get some help?
Hi mate,
To be able to save down to F8 format you need to open your Animate FLA in CS5.5,
then save it as CS4 file;
open that file in CS4 and save it down to CS3 format;
open the file in CS3 and save it down to F8 format.
So to summarise: you need to have access to Flash CS3, CS4 and CS5.5 to be able to accomplish this file transition.
It may be possible to do it via some custom made conversion tool, but I'm not aware of the existence of such.
