actionscipt errors in animate 2018 but not in 2017

hi, I have a student who is working on an action script project. in frustration with the script not working in animate 2018, she switched to animate 2017 and it works perfectly.

it is still not working in animate 2018. I have checked and there are no errors in the code, although when testing the movie, all the errors refer to 'access to undefined property'which usually means no instance name; but there are instance names.

can you please help to confirm why this is an issue in the latest version of animate, but not in previous versions.

Hi.

Can you please verify if advanced layers are on? Because the 2018 version already had this feature and it can change the references to instances on stage because each layer is turned into a Movie Clip.
