You will not be able to open your old files at all after march 2027, so you will need to export all of your individual files or they will be lost forever. Totally sucks. Horrible decision by Adobe.

@Zack With A Wack According to the announcement, you do have until March 2027 to access your files and Adobe is only suggest exporting your files into different file formats just in case other competitors software can't open Adobe Animate files.

Adobe will stop selling/supporting it for individual users on March 1, 2026. After that date, they won't release any more updates or bug fixes. You can probably still use it until you can't. So, if you have 'auto-update' turn on for your MAC or PC, this would likely screw you over as newer operating systems would make Adobe Animate to glitch or not open down the road.

If Adobe Animate is important to your workflow, I would strongly suggest to get another dedicated machine and turn off 'auto update' to the operating systems allowing you to use it forever. If you try this with your current system, important security updates could be the death of the newer computer!

    Hope that makes sense!?!

My wife still uses QuickBooks on her old PC when she needs to do her brother’s business books and taxes (and that PC is using Windows XP!—she just doesn’t like change!)

@creative explorer @Locken While getting my teacher's certification, we had used PowToon, Toon Boom, and Vyond. In school, we used Maya for animation (although Maya was a a steep learning curve!)  Adobe suggest that After Effects and Adobe Express covers what Animate does. But other apps such as Blender, Animaker, Moho could be also an alternative.

Enterprise customers can continue to receive technical support through March 1, 2029

Yep, it is now finally official: Animate (Flash) is dead. Long live the king! The king is dead!
