Adobe Animate crashes on macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 when opening files or using the color picker tool

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing frequent crashes with Adobe Animate on macOS Sequoia 15.3.1. The crashes occur when opening a file or when selecting a color using the Eyedropper tool.

My system was recently reinstalled with a clean setup, so there are no leftover files or settings from previous installations. I have tried both the latest version of Adobe Animate 2024 (24.0.7) and the 2023 version (23.0.10), but both versions have the same issue.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Are there any known fixes or workarounds?

Thanks in advance!

Even after performing a clean installation of macOS Ventura, Animate 2024 still crashes!

    That's craszy.

Well, I try that for 2 days...
I installed Animate 2023 on Ventura. Saved my "file as" to avoid corrupted data in it...
Now I cross my fingers. Thank you Adobe for this superb experience.

There have been multiple reports. Here is one:

With all the compatibility issues in the last decade, paying for and using Apple products in 2025 seems quite irrational and literally asking for trouble.

    Thank you!

I'm an old user like you who started with Macromedia Flash 4. Those were the good old days!

While before it was a fast and stable software, I'm very sad to see that this is no longer the case for a long time and that the big Adobe machine is not at all listening to its users (I was a beta tester between 2000 and 2006).

I saw that a guy downgraded his OS (Sequoia > Sonoma) to solve his crash problems with Animate.
But I just reinstalled my computeur 2 days ago and reconnecting to the thousand online accounts on a new setup is particularly annoying.

If only Adobe was more responsive to fix the problems!
When it comes to taking the subscription, there is no delay.

    1. assign a custom keyboard shortcut

    2. uninstall animate including preferences

    3. reinstall animate

    4. confirm your shortcut was reset

if it was not reset, return to 2.

if it was reset, test if problems are resolved

    Thank you!
Would this mean that we can't have custom keyboard shortcuts?

    no, it doesn't mean that.

it means the cc desktop app usually fails to remove preferences when it should.  the keyboard shortcut check allows you to confirm whether the preferences were actually reset.

if they are reset, and that reset fixes the problems, then you can reassign shortcuts and customize as you wish.
