Adobe Animate .Fla File Blank?!

Hey guys,

I recently created a HTML animation ad that I'm pretty proud of. I did make sure that I had been saving it throughout the day. Unfortunately when re opening the .fla file a couple of days later, I've noticed that the file is completely blank. No layers, Just 'Layer_1'. The file is supposedly 125kb.

Any ideas on whether this is salvagable?

Thanks! Jasmine

Check your library and also look on your computer for recovery files.

    what's in your fla library?

p.s. you should be saving with appended version numbers that are incremented after significant work is added.

    Hey kglad,

Thanks for responding. Have learnt my lesson and will do as of now!

All my symbols that I created are in there, just all my layers are gone.

save that fla with a version number appended now.  that will give you two copies of the only fla you have (so far).

you'll then check for auto-recovery fla and you'll try to repair one of the copies.

first, rename one fla to a rar

    then repair it with winrar

then rename the repaired rar to a fla

try to open the repaired fla in animate

if the layers are present, save it with an increased version number.

if that fails, check for an auto-recovery file:

open AutoRecoverFilenames.txt* and see if there was a saved file and, if so, check the folder location listed

    *

    win:

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\<animate version>\en_US\Configuration

    mac:

    Users/<username>/Application Support/Adobe/<animate/flash version>/en_US/Configuration/
