Adobe Animate Highlighted Timeline Help

been looking for answers to solve this issue. with not much luck.

On my timeline if i click on it to add a new keyframe, it highlights the whole layer and so when you hit F6 it adds key frams across the whole layer. I use to be able to just click on the frame and add keyframe. Im not sure how to fix this, but i am sure someone else is having or had this issue.

please help
