adobe animate keeps selecting all the frames in a layer and i don't want it to

I'm trying to edit one frame. ONE FRAME. And yet, every time I do so, the whole layer is selected instead of just the wanted frame. I don't want that to happen, and I don't know what I pushed for it to happen. Please help.

Check to see if you have accidentally enabled Span Based Selection and turn it off if necessary.
