Adobe Animate symbol editing

If you double click a symbol, it lets you edit it, (like with a timeline and as many layers as you want)

I want to make and multi layered animationg within the symbol editing thing, once I do, it doesn't appear in the main animation, how do I make it appear in the main animation?
