After Effects or Animate CC when animating?

I have a character that I am trying to animate, and I am stuck at a fork in the road. Should I use After Effects or Animate? I see people using both and I just wanted to know from the community which one you guys think I should use? It seems easier with After Effects, but now that I am learning animate cc more they both seem efficient for animation. Obviously because its named Animate cc I would think that's the way to go for animation, but After Effects looks just as good. Before I get started with my project I want to make sure.

Hi.

There are some people that create great character animations in AE, but generally they make use of third party plugins, like Duik and Dojo Ease.

But, as a rule of thumb, Animate is the primary choice for tweenable/modular and frame-by-frame animations.

After Effects is generally geared towards composition and FX.
