AME wont work on my computer

Question

This started when I tried exporting something from adobe animate as a video, and it said that i needed to update AME to 8 or above, which i knew i already have done. Then i tried opening AME and i got the message (not from adobe but from my computer itself) "this app cant run on yout PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher." This is odd as I have never had a problem with either Animate or AME before this, it always exported perfectly fine. Please help

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
