As the title says a great artist has died. What a waste of human talent. FLASH is one of the greatest digital medium for creative outlet so I'm sure many artists will be grieving or at least feeling some sense of loss.

SORRY por posting here but I thought it was the best place taking into account flash's popularity amongst artists.

Cheers

kglad,

Based on what this message should/can be removed? Is it against some Adobe rules? If so, can you please point to the legal source?

What harm is done?

Originator even offered a reason why he posted it here, quite reasonably assuming that this community, no matter how technically it is oriented, has connections to other aspects of humanity, especially when a talent is concerned.

Why anyone in his/her right mind would ever report this to any authority? And what honest and responsible moderator would honor such report and remove content? I am sorry but the mentioning of the possibility of reporting and removal is like deja vu of my past of living under the communists when fight for a single-handedly perceived purity was grossly misplaced which entailed human suffering (not to mention results of Aryan Eugenics).

I feel that statements that suggest reporting and removal are threatening and introduce a dangerous atmosphere of fear. Very odd for an American-based entity, don't you think?

Would someone report and Adobe remove any post on September 11, 2001 if someone wrote a couple of lines expressing reaction to the tragedy?

I realize that my post may be perceived as an inappropriately strong response but I have seeing too many cataclysmic downfalls rooted from "innocent" censorship. I hope this forum will not follow such a destiny.

1.  i don't know if it violates any rules but i suspect it does because it's unrelated to actionscript 3.

2.  i report all the extraneous stuff i see (except this one) and i assume there are others that do, too.

3.  i didn't report this and i can see noone else reported it.

4.  i didn't report it because i was sympathetic with the message and felt it was not on the same level as someone promoting some product/entertainment program.

5.  i opined that others may also have been sympathetic to explain why noone else reported it.

and all that was an attempt to explain that while you were the only one to explicity support the op's message, there may be 2 dozen others that implicitly supported it.

and you need to make an effort to relax: no matter what happens to this thread, it's probably not going to lead to a decline of world-wide freedom.

This is a sad news indeed. I like her a lot. She was very and genuinely talented unlike the majority of contemporary artificially made striking paper match ambers.

OK - just going though my "your stuff" to update - thanks for the answer - you were the ONLY ONE in the whole of the f****** community to give your condolensces. This is a "design" community" of artists or so I thought...

Thanks

actually, quite a few of us (20+ at the time of my response) read this.

despite your strong feeling, this isn't the appropriate forum for a.w. tributes.  the fact this message wasn't reported and wasn't taken down should not be ignored.
