Commenting to say that ADOBE is a joke of a company. People are giving so much money for their products yet here we are, ONE whole year without a single update. Flash and Animate gave life to so many creators, I don't understand how the company that created this software can't see the potential of its own creation. Ridiculous stuff.

Perhaps a collective claim should be made about not complying with the Anímate update, and request a refund of the corresponding portion. Such an event would be reported in the specialized press.

Notwithstanding the good intent behind your post: once more history repeats itself here. As with other products being sidelined by Adobe and development stopped, users proposed the exact same legal actions, class action suits, etcetera etcetera.

It has never worked, and it never will (with Adobe). When Freehand was cancelled by Adobe, the Freehand community started legal action, and even had a in-person meeting with Adobe's management. In the end nothing could be/was done or resolved.

So while I understand the sentiment, history shows us that there is absolutely no point in trying. Been there, done that. Pointless.

Well, at this point I hope Animate wont suffer the other Adobe's software fate and keep a minimun support to be alive for severql years. Animate is not going to be replaced by a similar Adobe's app and it serves multiple players in media industry.

I've working in Animate sonce 2000 and in Toon Boom since 2005 and I can say that Animate would be my main animation app until macos or windows stop supporting it.
I mean, Harmony is far more advanced than Animate since 15 years ago, I dont feel the rush to switch now to other software beyond The big problem wich is dropping support in future OS support (future windows ARM, future macOS RISK)
More even when so many people is animating yet in 2025 with Flash CS6 .

As I said, Harmony is different and serves me for other purposes, but Animate of Flash would be my everyday tool while I can run them in my computer

I reached out to one of the Adobe employees that have been helping us, on January 27th, and he said that they haven’t received any confirmation from the product team yet and that the decision is still under discussion, and that’s all they know at this point. He said that he would reach out to the team again and share my sentiments, but for now there’s no further information available...

The longer they wait the more they are losing tbh. I mean can't speak for everyone but I'm in the process of transitioning all my freelance work to Moho.

For me, Animate is not just about creating animations. I use it to make HTML banners, it is currently the best tool for developing such projects. I also use Adobe Animate to make Playbles with good animations. I don't want to switch to other applications. I have many different ideas for developing this product, for example, replacing createJS with pixeJS, and making the animation tool like in Spine2D. And Animate would become a powerful tool for developing WEB animations and games. I'm still waiting for good news.

Agreed, I rarely animated when using Flash and built hundreds of things.  That is why I was a little saddened when Adobe went to the name Animate.  I understand - going back to the roots.  If you want to do other things with Animate, please have a look at ZIM.  It is the most complete Interactive Media framework and it works in and with Animate as it is built on CreateJS.  Would  love to hear some feedback on the forum post here https://community.adobe.com/t5/animate-discussions/zim-tutorials-for-adobe-animate/m-p/13308555.  Cheers.

This sucks. For over 25 years, Flash/Animate has been the go-to tool for animators, powering everything from those early internet cartoons to legit massive TV shows. It’s got history, a massive fan base, and so much potential. It doesn’t deserve to be left to rot.

Adobe’s not likely to sell it off, either. There’s got too much proprietary stuff baked into it, and Adobe doesn’t exactly have a track record of letting go of its big apps. So, instead of giving Animate the love it needs or passing it on to someone who will, they’re just letting it die a slow, quiet death.

It’s a waste, plain and simple. Animate has been a huge part of so many people’s creative lives. It deserves better than this.

Looking at this thread, I feel like we need to start an official petition asking Adobe to not give up on Animate and I'm sure if it really got out there, we would have a couple hundred thousand people from all over the world. The only thing is, how can this be done? Is there a way to get serious petitions going?

not really, but you might feel better making an adobe suggestion.

    for applicable apps, use https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/x-productkb/global/how-to-user-voice.html

    for others, use https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Would like to mention that we have done about 1000 updates to ZIM over the last 10 years - many very exciting.  ZIM is a JavaScript Canvas framework https://zimjs.com that is built on CreateJS which is what Adobe Animate exports to.  So basically, everything that ZIM can do can be used in the code window using ZIM Shim template for Animate.  See https://zimjs.com/animate for information and 30 tutorials.  Sorry this is not a message from Adobe... but perhaps you will find it the next best thing!

I'm sorry but in what way is this relevant to Adobe Animate at all?

Dear Santa, I've been very good this year, and I'd like to see my favorite tool, Adobe Animate, updated to 2025 and not be full of bugs.

As jolly as Santa is, there are some things even Santa may not be able to fix.

I got bug fix 24.0.7 so glad to see that.  If Adobe Animate does get updated for 2025 somethings I would certainly like to see is that they continue to make Animate look more like Illustrator and integrate some of the AI features that they have been adding to Photoshop and Illustrator and maybe update the History panel so that it acts more like the the ones in Photoshop and Illustrator. Adding of  more filter effects and 3D like features would be good and some integration more with Character Animator. I certainly enjoy using it for creating my GIF and MP4 animations as I have more control in the Appilcation with the Timeline than in Photoshop for the more cartoon like illustrations.
