Animate Crashing in file / explorer dialogue

Animate is obviously very temperamental, but I an having a very hars time with a current problem.

Any time I use an open / import dialogue box to import a file, select a file path, etc., Animate opens the file explorer and crashes about one second later.

I have worked around this by just dragging files into the library, but I am trying to load a video to the video component and I can't select the file path.

When I try to type the path in, it removes all pathing information except for the file name; end result, the video doesn't play.

Has anyone else run into this situation?
