Question

Animate replaces already optimized PNG with double filesize ones.

When creating HTML5 banners, the filesize limits are really draconian sometimes. The best workflow for keeping both reasonable image quality and filesize is to prepare image assets in Photoshop, export them to PNG or JPG and squeeze them in TinyPNG or similar. But after importing those into Animate and Publish, we discovered that Animate keeps stubbornly "optimizing" them, resulting in twice the filesize.

A checkbox "Do not fiddle with my images" in Publish settings would be really an improvement, I guess...

Thanks, TBH I was kind of hoping somebody will jump in and show me some hidden option or workaround I missed... while it is annoying to replace all images after Publish, I am not entirely sure this is a bug at the moment. It might become a request or wish if nobody comes up with a solution, though.

i didn't test, but animate has publish settings and library properties you can use.

i assumed you had used those.
