Question

Animate runs after a few tries and when it does, halts at 80% when publishing to HTML5/Canvas

I have been using Animate for a year now, and when I recently switched companies, I installed Adobe CC on my newly assigned laptop and found the apps working well except for Animate. It hangs every time I run it. I have to shut down the app using the task manager and run it again. When it runs after a few tries, it will freeze at 80% during publishing to HTML5. The funny thing is, it got published the first time but would not publish again. I could make it run if I converted it to Actionscript but that would mean publishing to video only, and I need the output in HTML5 so I could add interactions.

I tried installing older versions of Animate but the results were the same. My laptop is a Dell Precision with i7/32G/SSD1T and NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics.

Kindly help.

use the cc desktop app to uninstall your animate including preferences.  removing your preferences is key to fixing the problem.

then use the cc app to install animate.

    Hi kglad,

Thanks for your swift response. However, after following your instructions on reinstalling, it would still freeze, and now it stops at 2 of 4: Converting to JSX after clicking the test movie button the second time around.

wait a minute.  are you seeing a problem with all canvas files?

start a new canvas project.  with nothing on the stage, test.  any problem?
