Can anyone recommend a good tutorial for setting up a restaurant locator using Google maps and AS3?

google maps is only going to work with as3 for less than 3 months so that may not be the route you want to follow.  you should use the google maps javascript api and flash externalinterface.

Google maps was deprecated for flash , as3.0 Instead of Google maps you can use Map quest works same as Google maps
