Audio Causes Timeline to Not Work (Also Audio Doesn't Play)

Question

I've never had the issue before, my audio is set to sync and all that stuff which tends to work, but for some reason now when I add audio, this happens with both mp3 and wav files, the timeline preview stops the second it reaches the first noise in the audio, not the start of the clip, but the first noise.

Also the audio straight up isn't playing, not even when it is played from the start. I have tried exporting the animation as media and that works fine, the audio is as it should be, it plays fine. Any ideas?

I fiddled around with some stuff and I found rebooting my computer and restarting Animate seemed to work.

If anyone has any idea why it happened in the first place that would still be useful for future people who experience the issue.
