Audio in Animate

For some reason, whenever I import audio into Animate it comes in as if nothing is there. I have listen to the audio files and they do have sound. They are in .wav an no longer than 20 seconds. I am in an HTML set up and have tried importing it by drag and drop onto the stage and importing it into it also. What am I missing?

The audio isn't 48kHz, is it?

Adding it to Animate is not my problem. it shows that it is there. It knows the file is a thing but it has no audio waves in the preview. like it doesn't show that the audio file actually has audio.

The no waves thing can happen if you are using 24 bit audio. Animate wants 16 bit audio.
