Audio not playing back in adobe animate 2023 and 2021

I don't know what i did or anything but my audio in adobe animate just stopped working entirely. It only plays if i export the animation as a swf. Please help. Here's what I've tried so far:
Putting the sync to stream
Checking if all my sounds were muted
Restarting my pc
Switching animate verisons

Please help!!

import your sound into a new fla and test

if it fails in the new fla, open the sound in audition and save with a new name and either 8- or 16-bit sound at sample rates of 11, 22, or 44 kHz and test the new sound in animate.

same file type (wav is optimal) is fine (wav or mp3).

btw, this has happened to previous animations where i heard the audio just fine, it may be a setting in my speakers? But im not too sure. I don't have my older speakers anymore.
