Best Actionscript book on the market?

I'm looking to increase my actionscript knowledge, but I am NOT a programmer. What's the best actionscript book on the market based on advancement. What's the best beginner book (is there an actionscript bible? I haven't found one yet). What's the best intermediate book, and what's the best advanced actionscripting guide?

Thanks!

There are a lot of AS3 books out there... hard to say which is best, because it's a bit of a personal thing.

Anyway, I've heard that Learning ActionScript 3.0: A Beginner's Guide is a good book, and I think everyone will agree that Essential ActionScript 3.0 is the defacto standard for an advanced book.

Hi,

I'm a designer and I strongly suggest you Pratique d'ActionScript 3 by Thibault Imbert.

Really well explained book. There is free pdf online (byteArray.org).

Hi Martyn,

I'm going try that book.  I really wish it were in English though (I suppose some people prefer it in French for whatever reason), but... I can still read it if I have to.

Thanks!

I agree with the previous poster. Learning ActionScript 3.0 by Rich Shupe and Zevan Rosser is easy to understand, has excellent examples and well designed charts and illustrations. I carry it with me every day.

Great! Thank you for the information! I will have to go out and pick up these books and get myself right on task.

Thanks again!
