Hey, guys. I'm thinking about learning a flash 3d engine. I need some advice on which one to use. There's quite a few out there. Which is the best? I'm also considering whether there're a good bunch of tutorials on the web, that can make the learning easy. Thanks a lot.

The Flare 3D is the best one, as it does not only provide just library/sdk or api for 3D development but also the full flash IDE that is best suited for 3D Design as well as Programming.

It's having all the aspects like: Physics, Rigid Body, Occlusion Culling etc.

It's also featuring Plug-in based approach, so you may also find various plug-ins for various functionality/aspects to embed in your projects.

But remember: Flare 3D is not Free, though it's available for full flash version as 1 month Trial.

Go and Enjoy....

I'm working on a new project and started using PV3D, however it has a lot of clipping problems and the overall performance is not THAT good. I tried to use alternativa3D since i saw the demo in adobeMax last monday but the engine is very limited and doesn't have a lot of objects (like vectorshape3d) that i need. So i'm searching again, testing away3d and even considering unity3d. If anyone can helpme deciding, i'll apreciate it.

I've used Papervision and Away and personally think Away is the better one. It has more for materials and is just easier to get going with. Plus they have some nice tools for mapping as well... and Unity is not a Flash 3D engine.

I have only tried Papervision.

Yup, Unity is not a Flash 3D engine. It requires a Unity web plugin to be installed.

I didn't find any tutorials for papervision, so it seems real hard to get started for me. I'll have a look at Away3D. But in terms of performance, I still wonder which one is better.
