ok so, i imported a bunch of frames, and some of them arent colored so i want to color them with animate. i click and nothing bucket fills. yes they all have a transparent background and they should be bucket fillable. i can easily draw on the keyframe, but bucket fill doesnt work. also, if i draw a shape right next to it, and try to bucket fill, it works, but it doesnt work on the image. im really confused, is there some setting i need to change?

oh.. i just wanted to get some frames polished up in animate because i started working on a project on a different software, but stopped using that software after i got animate. the old software didnt have gradient fill so its basically all i wanted to do, gradient fill a few frames. oh well then. thanks for your help. ill have to think of something else.

There are free paint programs that do gradient fills perfectly well. Here's one: https://www.getpaint.net/

Hi.

The Paint Bucket Tool only works with vectors.

It seems you imported a bunch of bitmaps, right?

You can try to convert them to vectors goingo to Modify > Bitmap > Trace Bitmap...

that is really cool, i didnt know you could do that

it doesnt work though when i select all keyframes and try to convert them all to vector, only when i select one frame. is there any way to convert them all at once?

Not without a JSFL script, no. And even if you could, it's doubtful you should. Converting a bitmap to vectors vastly decreases the image quality, and/or vastly increases the file size and frame render time. You really should be getting your bitmaps looking the way you want before you import them.
