Bucket tool constantly crashing when used

Nearly everytime I try to fill an object in, Animate stops processing and begins to crash. Is there a way to fix this?

In case anyone else comes across this, my problem was that I had set the canvas size to 512... inches. Not pixels. 150,000 pixels square is a lot to try to color with the fill tool!

Which preferences do I reset?

In the Preferences dialog box, click Reset to Defaults or press and hold Control+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Animate.

Restore all preferences to default settings
