Can I assign distinct texts to symbol instances?

I'd like to create a symbol and apply different text to each instance of the symbol:

Is this possible?

I prefer just applying a property, without being required to use ActionScript.

Make sure the symbol is Graphic.

Stop it, setting its looping property to Single Frame.

Inside have two frames with different text.

On the outside choose 1 and 2 as the First Frame setting for the two instances.

(This is what we routinely call a 'container of static images or variations'.)
