Cannot exit Animate

Last night, I was toying with animate. I drew a stroke and suddenly "Animate is processing stroke" shows up. I waited a couple of minutes for it to load and go away but it showed zero progress (0%). I don't know how to close Animate because of the pop-up getting in the way. It's really straining my pc by having it open for 24 hours. I restarted my pc and everything the next day and the app is still open with the pop-up. Help??
