Cannot export masked text in Animate cc

Question

I'm having trouble exporting my animation test with a masked text layer. When I export the animation as a video, the masked text layer disappears and only shows the texture underneath.

How do I mask a text layer so the texture remains inside the letters when exported?

i know this is more than 1 month old the the op is probably not interested any more, but in case and one else wants to know the problem/solution:

you're not masking a text layer. you're using text as a mask.

you should break the text apart (to create individual text elements of each letter) and then break it apart again (to make shapes of each letter).
