Cant use Bone Tool/Asset Warp Tool on Illustrator File

Hi Friends, hope all is well.
I have an Adobe Illustrator File (Adobe Illustrator Artwork 27.0 (.ai)) that I have imported in Adobe Animate.
However, when I try to use the bone tool or Asset warp tool, I'm met with the "no entry" icon, meaning it cant ad the rig.
I made sure that the file is not bitmap, it is a vector file to my understanding. If I resize, the image will always stay digitally the same.
Any help would be greatly appreicated
