Change animation but keep webpage the same

First post here and new user to Animate.

If I create an animation in Animate as HTML5 Canvas and have it generate the HTML page, then make some changes to the HTML adding a title, some text, colour etc. but now want to make changes to the animation only, can I just export the animation and not lose my changes to the HTML?  Hope that makes sense.  Thank you.
