Change stage and contents

I am trying change the stage size from 550 X 400 to 650 X 400.  I can change the stage, but I cannot get the contents to "scale" as it seems should happen.

All assistance will be appreciated.

Hello, did you check the 'Scale Content' option from the properties panel (Doc tab)?

Keep in mind though that you can only scale contents proportionally if both dimensions have the same aspect ratio, if not you will have to do it manually.

You could also nest all of your layers inside a symbol and easily scale everything with the free transform tool; to do that select the layers, right click and choose Convert Layers to Symbol (Type: Graphic).

    I did try that, but I get this:

    550 X 400

    Change to 650 X 400 and check the "scale content" box

    The result is both the stage and the contents changing size to 650 X 473.

    I know that is proportional scale to 550 X 400, and I cannot fine a way to disable that link between the H & W.

    Am I missing something?
