"classic brush" tool creates wobbly lines when zoomed out

my friend uses the brush with the smoothing setting all the way down, because it doesnt make animate edit his lines after he's drawn them. however, when i do it with the same settings adobe makes my lines extremely wobbly, even though my strokes are as smooth as his. this wobbliness gets worse the more zoomed out i am, like its just guessing where my cursor was. ive already tried restarting my computer and driver and all that, so i have no idea how to fix it.
