Colors refuse to change

I don't understand why, or even how that went past anyone's radar, but sometimes, when I try to change the color of a simple something, it doesn't, just like doesn't, the color picker immediately goes back to the first color and nothing changes at all.

More specifically, it happens right after I paste a stroke or fill, it doesn't change color unless I unselect it and reselect it and then try to change it.

It's not very bothersome but then I came accross something very annoying: It also happens for texts, except that the very only workaround I found was to either swap stroke/fill colors or to reset strokes and fills to white and black (interestingly, the descriptions of those buttons are swapped), but otherwise, it doesn't want to change color, no matter what.

Has someone ever met such an issue before, and if you did, how did you fix that?
