I have started my Flash CS3 document in script 2 but now I would like to work on it in script 3.
How do I migrate/convert it into 3, any advice please.

Thanks

I have looked at migrating to 3, it looks like a lot of work and re-writing a large chunk of it. I am not going back to university and spend 3 years just to learn Flash.

Adobe, should stick to graphics and need to give this pile of software to Apple to re-write and make sense out of it. It should be user friendly and simple to upgrade.
Take Final Cut Pro II for example, scary to look at but very easy pick up and use, no scripting coding or moaning.

ActionScript 3 runs under an entirely new virtual machine, and was totally overhauled to be more object oriented based. Apparently thats not for you. I would suggest just changing the publish settings to ActionScript 2 and using your old script.

Its funny because if I open Flash right now, press F1, or go to Help-->Flash Help. Then type in 'migration' with All Books selected in the drop down. Low and behold I see "ActionScript 2.0 Migration". Not only that, but I posted a link to my forum which explains and give all the script needed to make an email form using ActionScript 3. If you call that not helping, then you should by me a plane ticket so I can be at your door step to walk you through this step by step.

Why didn't you say so in the first place (“typical female”).
I was clicking on menu bar - help, but getting no where. Obviously different platforms, slightly different bits.
PS. I am new at this, That's why I and others like me log on to forums for direction & help. Thanks

I will check it later, but if I could not do it, I will send you a one way ticket. You’d better be flash and good looking. You are a girl.... Aren’t you.

I said to look under the help docs for "migration", not "file migration". Link to AS3 email form

And I have. I looked under "Migration" "migrate" "migrant" "migraine" all with and without files and any other words similar or looked like migration, still no clues.

Is hard for you to direct me in clearer way. If you don't want to help that's fine, I'd appreciate if you do not reply to my post with the same repeated answers.

I am getting nothing under Flash help "file migration", can you give me a bit of direction. I am trying to create form in script 3, but all the work I have done in script 2 are being lost when I save the job into 3.

Surely I don't have re-script everything again, or do I.

Please advice.

Yes, provided there is no code yet in the file, that's all you have to do.

I have worked it out.
File - publish settings. Change Version to 9 and Action script to 3.
But now nothing is working and I am getting a full list of errors.

Surely we should be able to upgrade from 2 to 3.

Can anyone help please.
