Mac or Win? If Mac, did you update to Ventura recently? I've also experienced crashes recently and it was after updating the OS. If not, refer to Kglad's response.

    assign a custom keyboard shortcut, if you have no custom preferences set

    uninstall animate including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

     

    confirm your preferences were reset.

     

     

    create a new fla
