Create Paint Brush with Gradient?

Hi there!

I'm trying to animate a stroke, but that stroke needs to have gradient colors (transparency included), as below:

...but when I try to convert the gradient shape in a stroke, Animate prompts this:

As you can see, the future stroke will be black.

Is there a way to make this possible? Maybe Animate can't do this anyway.
