Created Adobe Edge Animate ".an" files 7 years ago. Won't open now.

Question

Animate 2021 does not recognize the original source files for my .an extension which I created in Adobe Edge Animate in 2013.

I have dozens of backups. Tried several. I can't find info on that extension in this forum despite many searches.

Appreciate your help.

Hi mate,

Animate is Flash. It is a totally different product, clumsily renamed in a fruitless attempt to save face.

It will not open your Edge Animate AN files. It only opens FLA (its native format) and imports a bunch of standard image and audio formats.

I have no experience with Edge Animate, but as far as I know it has been discontinued years ago.

Maybe you should look for an old version to install and work on your files.
