Did Adobe eliminate my favorite drawing function?

Hi. Adobe Animate was my favorite drawing program as I could draw shapes then click and elimnate any overlapping lines. This greatly sped up my drawing. Now it looks like it's been converted to an illustrator style of point creation. This really sucks if true. It will force me to look elsewhere to draw my cartoons.

Can anyone help? Is there a way to get it to create lines/images in the old manner?
